Elisabeth Fairchild likes snapdragons, symbolism, dark chocolate, deeper meaning, ginger tea, and the empathy and wisdom gained through conflict.
Most of all, she enjoys honoring the truths of our past.
Fascinated with words, wit and her English heritage, as a deeply inquisitive child, Elisabeth found herself in the fictional characters of Bronte’s Jane Eyre and Austen’s Anne Elliot. Her work is described as: lyrical, layered, richly textured, historically accurate, theme-driven writing with likeable,
nuanced characters and satisfying endings.
Fairchild writes, dreams and gardens behind a stained glass door, near a beautiful lake, with rare radio visionary, her husband George, and two rescued Border Collies. In her spare time, she loves to travel the globe and back through time, exploring evocative historical sites, and leafing through dusty, leather-bound books searching for whispers from the past.
Awarded the Golden Quill, the HOLT Medallion, the Bookseller’s Best, a Waldenbooks Bestseller of the Year, and a Career Achievement Award in Regency romance, Elisabeth is currently writing a series of Georgian era historical novels that dust off the exploits of a group of fallen women and rakish noblemen who rubbed shoulders with the movers and shakers of their era, testing boundaries and transforming their world, and ours.
